I have over 25 years of experience running my fashion and textile company. Selling to luxury stores worldwide and showing at international tradeshows. Specialising in recycled print customisation in 2000 and digital print from 2000-2015.

I am currently doing a part-time PhD at the Royal College of Art to develop 3D printing in textiles surface pattern and structure, Knit, Lace, Weave and Embroidery.

I have outlined in the below list the particular strengths I could bring to Future Fashion Factory Projects.

  • Research in textiles innovation related to production.
  • Manufacturing in textiles and fashion.
  • Consult on developing resourceful, sustainable production structures for small fashion and textile companies.
  • Introduce fashion textile designers to 3D printing FFF technology for creating structure and surface pattern textiles.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: The future of the fashion and textile industry will be 100% sustainable. Bringing new technology into fashion manufacturing to help develop a circular economy; helping fashion and textile designers to engage in new technology where future design can dictate a sustainable production model; to collaborate with 3D printer engineers, designers, material experts to develop a 3D printer used solely for printing textiles; to create a desktop 3D printer for textile fashion students to experiment using 3D print technology and eventually narrow the gap between fashion textiles, craft, and technology; to teach and consult with future fashion and textiles students to create designs using new technology such as 3D printing.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: 3D printing textiles projects; to work with textile manufacturers to develop surface pattern design using 3D printing, such as Lace and embellishment etc.; projects with students to encourage 3D printing in textiles, teaching a new methodology aimed at the textile designer using Adobe design software; to collaborate with innovative companies, engineers, designers, material manufacturers, etc., to develop technology in manufacturing retail and material for fashion and textiles.
