 Fashion & Textile Professionals

I am a researcher and consultant working in the circular economy for fashion and textiles. My specialist areas include product design, policy, business models and systemic industry initiatives. I have been working in this field since 2019. Prior to this, I gained ten years’ industry experience in the design, product development and sourcing of athleisure and activewear products.

I am enthusiastic about any innovations with potential to scale the lesser developed circular economy propositions for clothing, for example: remanufacturing and recycling.

My next research project will investigate the impacts of UK based textile supply chains, from fibre cultivation through manufacturing, using a circular economy perspective.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: It is my objective is to advance a circular economy for fashion and textiles through research, collaboration, teaching, activism, mentoring and public engagement. Over the next 3-4 years I will be pursuing a PhD at the University of Manchester’s Department of Materials. During this time, I will aim to strengthen my teaching experience while contributing to academic, public and industry discourse. I look forward to working with Fashion Revolution Scotland to strengthen engagement in Scotland.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: I am keen to connect with members that are producing textiles in the UK, with particular interest in tier 4: fibre cultivation/production. I would also be keen to hear from any members that are interested in remanufacturing as a value proposition for pre-consumer (deadstock) clothing. I am always looking for opportunities to learn from others with an interest in a circular economy for fashion and textiles, regardless of the angle.
