ABERDEVINE Ltd

Design & Manufacturing (Lingerie and Intimates)

Aberdevine is an ethical and luxurious lingerie brand that I have personally created from scratch. The brand fills a gap in the market for luxurious, ethical, practical, and adjustable underwear. Our website states, “At Aberdevine, we create lingerie that liberates® Our mission is to be the capsule collection that works with every outfit, every mood, every day, while staying true to our four core values: versatility, timelessness, excellence, and thoughtfulness.”

As a nano-brand based in Yorkshire, I have plans to expand globally. Currently, I am seeking local and national events to showcase not only our beautiful lingerie pieces but also the stunning visual imagery captured by Joshua Fray, a contributing photographer for Vogue. Our photo shoots took place on the top of the gorgeous North Yorkshire Moors.

We strive to create a true circular fashion brand, inspired by the Doughnut Economics model. We prioritize ethical considerations not only in terms of our components (it takes around 30 parts to create a bra) but also in terms of durability and ethics. We aim to take into account the planet’s wellbeing as well, as the wellbeing of everyone we work with.

I am open to collaborations in various fields, whether they are fashion or art-related or focus on the environment. Given my background in Economics, I am particularly fascinated by the concept of Sustainable Economics, not only within the fashion industry but also in the future of running a business. I am passionate about conducting research and have experience as a public speaker. I would be delighted to speak on topics such as the importance of sustainable practices in the fashion world and how new emerging brands can fit into future business models.

  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: As we gain awareness of the damage caused by overconsumption in the fashion industry, our wardrobes are shrinking again to contain fewer items, either of a higher quality or to which we have a special connection. I love renting clothes, and I believe it will play an increasingly important role in the future of fashion. But I also believe that underwear, due to its nature, is likely to sit outside that. It could well become one of the few items that women buy to keep. I think that elevates its importance. It should fit properly, it should be dependable, and it should feel a bit special. I believe Aberdevine can tick all those boxes and therefore grow to become a well-known truly global company with its roots in beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
