This Day Studio
This Day Studio is a bridal atelier which is split into two, one being the functional studio offering bridal alterations, bespoke bridal design, pattern cutting and more. It’s about thinking beyond the day to in inviting them back to rework pieces rather than sit in your wardrobe, which leads on to the other side of the business, which is my debut bridal brand, redefining bridal in thinking beyond your day.
Creating pieces for the modern bride which can be worn after your big day and forever evokes the feeling of that special day each time you wear your new piece again. Sustainability sits within the core from sourcing sustainable fabric to implanting the circular design model into our business thinking beyond the big day.
My main job is within the PPE / Corporate sector as a product development manager implementing sustainable practices within the business and working with organisations such as textiles 2030.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: To build a new business model for bridal which others can adapt to bringing a new sustainable way of thinking into the bridal market. Building a team within the Hull studio which will produce garments and in turn create positions within the creative sector with working closely with the local education facilities for interns too. The Brand to become a well-established bridal brand with the opportunity for global growth into other countries whilst always keeping things thinking green at the forefront of the process. Collaborating with others to keep progressing circular design skills and approaches, upcycling ideas and evolving as a sustainable business the more supporting technology and ideas allow us to do so.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Fabric innovations and circular design approaches, hearing more about the UK textile recycling process and capabilities , end of life clothing and how we can re-use- in particular bridal dresses within the recycling are and what is happening to them , technology cutting down waste and processes.
