 Fashion & Textile Professionals

Studying an MSc in Textile Sustainability and Innovation (University of Leeds) and a BEng in Chemical and Process Engineering (Newcastle University) has given me a unique understanding of sustainable manufacturing in textiles. I have expertise in polymer chemistry, product lifecycle assessments, digital clothing and manufacturing and sustainable clothing development.

I’m currently researching biodegradable fibres and rPET and evaluating the knowledge gap between retailers and research to help progress towards a circular fashion economy.

Outside of my interests in alternative sustainable materials, I’m pursuing developments in digital fashion and learning CLO3D software as a member of The Fabricant’s online community.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: Most of us use fashion and adornment as a means of self-expression because fashion satisfies psychogenic needs as well as physical ones. I aspire to use my technical knowledge and engineering mindset to help resolve the fashion emission crisis so society can continue to adorn, express and experiment with clothing without destroying the world around us. Whether in the metaverse or taking inspiration from the natural world, I want to help transition fashion to a more sustainable place.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: New alternative materials, digital technology, sustainable developments – anything that takes fashion to net zero!
