 Supply Chain / Traceability

We’re a technology company working internally and with clients to develop digital products and platforms, specifically focussing on bringing new thinking to digital and physical supply chains. We primarily work in an R&D capacity, and have delivered proof-of-concepts encompassing a range of emerging technologies, including AI and ML, AR and Blockchain.

We’ve developed projects for a number of forward-thinking fashion brands, including Harrods, Galeries Lafayette and Fendi — giving us a unique perspective on the use of emerging technologies in commercial fashion; we’re able to share practical experience of what’s achievable, what can be problematic and some novel ways in which we’ve overcome particular technical challenges.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: Over the past couple of years we’ve developed a sizeable amount of experience and intellectual property around the workflows and use cases for DTG printing in a “fast fashion” capacity, using late-stage customisation to deliver personalised textiles in a sustainable way. With the environmental damage being done by consumer demand for fast-fashion from brands like Boohoo, we’re especially interested in bringing to market a new geographically distributed, on-demand manufacturing supply chain; making strategic use of data-driven practices to minimise air miles and landfill, to manage cross-supplier QA at scale, and to ensure provenance and authenticity for consumers.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: We’re interested in any projects which bridge the gap between the digital and physical aspects of fashion; especially where supply chain is concerned. To give some examples, the kind of things that interest us are: * The use of distributed ledger technology, including Blockchain, as a means of proving authenticity and provenance * Using techniques like spread spectrum water marking, in print, to turn textiles into “identifiable” objects which can be used in augmented reality. * Working with print hardware, like Kornit DTG printers, to integrate web facing platforms with the printer for the purposes of customer personalisation (web-to-print), and to provide a missing authorisation layer which could minimise copyright infringement
