Aurélie Fontan Studio
Aurélie Fontan Studio specialises in circular fashion couture pieces made from upcycled and recycled materials. In parallel, we develop completely biodegradable bio-based clothing and textiles using living organisms (Kombucha, Mycelium etc…). We are interested in combining textile waste or sustainable fibres with living organism, bio-mimicry and synthetic biology to tackle the environmental issues created by the fashion industry.
Our expertise lies in both our ability to maximise streams of waste from other industries (not restricted to textiles) and apply various biological and couture processes to transform this waste into a new product.

- What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: In the near future, we are looking into developing our own bio-fabricated composite plant-based fabric and implement a fully circular LCA for this product. We want to expand the company with a larger studio space and create a multidisciplinary design studio/manufacture space revolving around biology, design and textiles.
- What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Recycling or upcycling fabrics, and implementing circular strategies/ textile making methods are our main interests for the projects we would like to work on through the FFF.
