Global paper consumption is expected to increase from 420 million metric tonnes (mmt) in 2023 to 500 mmt by 2032. However, paper and forestry production pose a significant risk to biodiversity, second only to mining, causing resource depletion and increased carbon emissions. (Source: Suzano, AFRY).

Our solution, Fab2Paper, transforms textile waste into eco-friendly paper, targeting paper-intensive industries in the UK, such as publishing, packaging, and education. Over 50% of the 336,000 tonnes of clothing discarded annually in the UK is in landfills (FAO, 2023). We aim to divert 1mmt of fabric waste from landfills by 2030, promoting sustainability in the textile industry and aligning with the UK government’s net-zero ambitions.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: Adopting our fabric waste-to-paper tech reduces paper procurement costs by over 10%, contributing to budgetary efficiency. Our 5X500 A4 papers are priced at £12 excl. VAT.   In terms of supply chain, China's restriction on imports of 11 types of textile waste from the UK has led to a search for new markets (Recycling Today, 2018). Our business will provide a new market for the UK's fabric waste. We aim to collect 5 tonnes of fabric waste in six months, and we predict 30% more annually. Our Fab2paper solutions will promote eco-friendly practices in the paper industry, encouraging others to follow suit. Our goal is to save over 1 million metric tonnes annually from landfills by 2030, leading to a more sustainable sector and less microplastics in the oceans. Fab2Paper supports circular economy principles and reduces textile waste in landfills, aligning with the UK government's Waste and Resource Strategy (DEFRA, 2018) and Net Zero Commitment by 2050 (Burnett, Edwards & Watson, 2023).    We aim to scale up paper production, creating 2000 new jobs (direct and indirect) by 2030 and boosting fabric waste collection employment by 20% annually. We will offer diverse job opportunities across various skill sets, promoting inclusivity within our workforce and impacting local economies.
