SDC is a registered charity and remains the only organisation in the world able to award Chartered Colourist status. SDC works globally, with worldwide membership and is a centre for networking, events and community engagement amongst the colour industry.

SDC engages with a range of audiences from technical and design backgrounds and from industry and academia in the textile industry.

• What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: SDC aims to be the outstanding provider of colour education and community engagement for those studying and working with colour. SDC offers a range of internationally recognised colour courses and qualifications, delivered via our online learning platform https://colour.network/. These range from free short courses on topics relating to fibres and dyes to the equivalent of a four-year part-time degree. We plan to continue the development of online courses and qualifications in colour to the design community that are recognised globally and build a community around colour in textiles.
• What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: Projects around education, sustainability, reducing lead times and waste. Developing skills and the future workforce.
