Recovery Insulation Ltd

 Design & Manufacturing (Textiles)

Recovery Insulation is a social enterprise company established to manufacture and distribute INNO-THERM low carbon ‘eco’ thermal/acoustic insulation made from recycled cotton/denim fibres.

We can provide recycled denim through a Doncaster Vintage company for sustainable fashion design. There would also be student placement opportunities – i.e. Lynne Hugill, Principal Lecturer (International), Course Leader Fashion & Textiles and her colleagues at Teesside University in development of this project.

  • What are your aspirations and plans for the future?: One of our aspirations is to engage young people to enhance their employment opportunities in gaining self-confidence in learning and willingness to up skill themselves in fashion design following Circular Economy principles. For example, the pan is to establish enterprises from the making of denim garments, braided denim rugs, proggy mats, up-cycled denim placemats, covers for chairs/sofas and sofa pillows from offcuts of denim jeans and other recycled denim.
  • What types of projects are you interested in working on through Future Fashion Factory?: One of our current projects is to design and develop fashion products from the offcuts and recycling of used denim jeans as there is currently a surplus of recycled denim. The next phase of the project is to focus on the design of a garment to house a solar charge unit made from our unique flexible PV cell or other garments and products. We are in discussion with Lynne Hugill and her colleagues at Teesside University. We also plan to involve students from secondary schools. In the production of the garment it is envisioned to set-up a small enterprise for possible involvement of an x-offenders project rehabilitation units within the UK Prison Service.
