As wool varies from year to year and even from sheep to sheep, subtle variations in the dyes that are used, ensure the end product maintains the specified colour and quality.

This project will develop and build on existing digital colour measurement and matching technology (spectrophotometry) to improve the accuracy and economic efficiency of the wool dyeing process, reducing waste and improving the quality and consistency of the end product.

Abraham Moon is keen to support the Textile Creative Industries in the UK and we have sustainability and quality at the heart of all that we do. This project will hopefully help us to improve, even further, the quality and consistency of our woollen yarn colours in the fabric that we weave at our vertical Mill in Yorkshire.
