I am a Fellow of the Textile institute [CText FTI ] and the Higher Education Academy, UK. I am also a CSC (Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK) alumnus and a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) fellow. I obtained my PhD in Fashion Technology from the University of Manchester in 2012. I gained my MSc in Textile and Clothing Engineering (2004) from the Dresden University of Technology in Germany. My first degree, gained in 1999, was in Textiles from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh.

My ongoing research focuses on body-scanning, virtual clothing prototyping, e-textiles and textile-based engineered materials. My expertise nicely matches with two of the flagship innovation challenges and core research themes of the Future Fashion Factory project: Innovation Challenge 1 (Digitally Connected & Sustainable Processes) and innovation Challenge 2 (Immersive Digital Communication and Data Analytics). Following journal articles published from my recent research work directly contributed in the development of advanced digital and textile technologies to transform fashion industry’s agility in the fashion design process, and ability to shift to circular economies.
