Webinar: Wool for the 21st Century

9 February, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

£5

The Bradford Textile Society is delighted to host this online panel discussion in conjunction with the Worshipful Company of Woolmen.

The panel will explore the role wool can play now and in the future, addressing questions such as: will Covid provide an opportunity for the fashion and textile industry to re-set, and can wool provide an answer to the sustainability issue the industry is facing? How can wool’s inherent and sometimes unexpected qualities provide innovative solutions in other product areas?

Dr Mark Sumner, Lecturer in Sustainability, Retail and Fashion at The School of Design, University of Leeds, will chair this panel discussion on the topic of “Wool for the 21st Century” with:

  • Peter Ackroyd MBE, COO The Campaign for Wool (CFW) and Global Strategic Advisor to the Woolmark Company.
  • Frankie Davies, Owner & Director of Charl Knitwear, a modern British brand focusing on ethical and sustainable methods of sourcing and production.
  • Janet Prescott, Textile Journalist & Editor.

Following the panel discussion, attendees will be invited to put questions to the panel.
