Robots vs Runways: A Conversation with Mark Harrop

29 January, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Mark Harrop, CEO of WhichPLM

‘The fashion industry’ used to mean a small group of creative directors shaping every season’s trends. Now digital tools have made it easier than ever for new brands to find their markets, while consumers are demanding more personalised experiences and shorter delivery times.

Mark Harrop will explore the major shifts taking place in today’s fashion industry, from sustainability to customisation and connected manufacturing, as well as the tools and skills that fashion designers will need to be able to grow. Share your ideas, ask questions and join in the conversation about the future of the fashion industry.

Mark is a fashion technology industry figurehead, with over 4 decades’ experience in designing, selecting and implementing a broad range of digital solutions, including CAD/CAM, product data management, product lifecycle management (PLM) & extended PLM solutions.

His 45-year career in apparel has seen him fill roles as Cutting Room Manager, Work Study Engineer, Production Director, and, today, digital solutions selection advisor and blogger. Today, as well as serving as chief executive of WhichPLM, he is considered a trusted advisor to many of the world’s leading retailers, brands and manufacturers.

Founded in 2007, WhichPLM is a digital magazine and analyst firm dedicated to PLM both as a methodology and as a broad range of digital solutions for fashion. With articles, interviews, tools, publications, webinars and direct advisory services, WhichPLM has become the first port of call for any savvy retailer, brand or manufacturer seeking to understand these technologies without the usual sales or “marketing spin”.
