New Heritage: Historic Textiles and Today’s Designers

5 December @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

New Heritage cloth being woven on a jacquard loom

In a collaborative project supported by Future Fashion Factory, Leeds mill AW Hainsworth and Yorkshire Textiles used historic jacquard punch cards from Leeds Industrial Museum as the inspiration for a ‘new heritage’ cloth.

Explore the cloth’s journey from museum to finished product with the people who created it. Then hear Leeds University Library Special Collections staff about the International Textile Collections, get up close with some of their historic fabric samples, and find out how you can access these stunning collections to inspire your own designs.

Join us for wine and mince pies at our final event of the year!
