Apply for Innovation Funding Call 3

We are delighted that Innovation Funding Call 3 will open as planned on Thursday 30 April.

Earlier this week we announced seven of the successful projects from our second funding call, which secured over £693,000 investment for the fashion and textile industry across the UK.

After another £645,000 was secured in our first call last summer, Future Fashion Factory’s funding calls have now generated more than £1.3 million to drive innovation among fashion designers, manufacturers and retail brands.

Now companies of all sizes and specialisms working in the sector will have a new opportunity to apply for collaborative research and development (R&D) projects, working with industry partners and academics to develop new solutions to key business challenges.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are taking a slightly different approach to the application process so we can continue to work closely with applicants.

Last month we announced that our in-person events have been postponed until further notice and the team is currently supporting businesses while working remotely.

If you are considering applying for funding, you will need to arrange an initial brainstorming call with a member of the Future Fashion Factory team to talk through your ideas and identify potential project partners before you submit your Expression of Interest.

During this call you will discuss the gateway criteria that all projects must meet:

  • Innovative
  • Significant input from a business in Yorkshire and the Humber
  • Input from a researcher at the University of Leeds, University of Huddersfield, or Royal College of Art
  • An element of match-funding (this can be in kind, such as staff time, travel or lost opportunity costs)
  • Alignment with one or more of our Core Research Themes

We can help to identify and introduce you to potential partners as part of the application process, but you must be a Future Fashion Factory member to apply. Membership is free of charge and the joining process is simple. Find out more about our network

Once your Expression of Interest has been received, you will be allocated a named contact who will work with you and your partners to develop a full application that will eventually be submitted to our Investment Committee.
